Dr. Alassane Abdoulaye DIA is a Faculty (Assistant Professor of English) at the Université Numérique Cheikh Hamidou Kane, Senegal (ex UVS). He holds an MA degree in literatures and civilizations of the English-speaking world, a Master's degree in the same specialty and a Ph.D. in Anglophone and comparative literature. Dr. DIA has over 12 years of experience of teaching English in academia and is certified by the American English E-Teacher Program of de the US Department of State and Northern Arizona University, USA. He also has a certificate of E-Teacher Trainers on Education Technologies, a certificate in English academic writing from the University of California Berkely, USA. He was an exchange student and Tutor at Sookmyung Women's University, Seoul, South Korea in 2011, then a Mandela Washington Fellow (YALI, an initiative of former US President Barack OBAMA and the US State Department) in 2014. Dr Dia was also recipient of the American English E-Teacher Fellowship in 2016, then the Salzburg Global Seminar in American Studies Fellowship in Austria in 2017. He is part of the first cohort of English teachers certified by Online Professional English Network (OPEN) of the Department of State in 2021. Dr. DIA holds two international Digital Badges in Techniques of Teaching Reading and Writing and in Community Interest Lead. As part of his academic and research activities, he is the author of two books (a literary criticism and a short fiction), in addition to a dozen of articles in his specialty. He is Honorable Editor-in-Chief and Editorial board member of the International Journal of Humanities, Social Science, and Education (IJHSSE), Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Global Journal of Research in Humanities and Cultural Studies (GJRHCS), and Member of TESOL International. In the field of administration and leadership, Dr. DIA holds a Certificate in Public Administration from HOWARD University, USA. He is currently Chair of the Department of English of the Université Numérique Cheikh Hamidou Kane and Bachelor program Manager. Dr DIA is also a member of the Pole of Innovation and Expertise for Development (PIED) where he is in charge of projects.
